A beach wedding

July 14, 2011

I’ve been spending some time on the Cape this summer, one of my favorite places in the world. Being on the beach at the end of June reminded me of my sister’s wedding that took place there, in June of 2007. I love thinking of ways to include personal touches throughout events – there will be more on this in upcoming posts – and I was excited to contribute some ideas to my sister and her husband’s celebration. They were going for an informal ceremony on the beach, and a laidback reception, with a clambake menu and an ice cream cake. Here are some pictures of my contributions to the event.

The groom loved macaroons, so for takeaways, I filled glassine bags with mini macaroons and had stickers made with their new, shared initial.

I loved these “sand castles” from Illuminations – they added a great touch of whimsy to the table. And the bride and groom still enjoy them now, in their home!
